Archery – Players Read Me First

By “Archery Sports”, I mean the sport that Wikipedia calls “Combat Archery“, but that many people refer to as “Archery Tag“.

Archery games are crazy fun and tricky. Players of all ages will be challenged at whatever level they want to play.

Adult and Kids Games
“Kids Games” are suited for ages 8 or 9 and up, but some 6-year-olds will get it.
For a “kids game” I have the draw force set around 8-12 pounds, to level the playing field around the average 11 year old (compared to 20lb in my adult games)
“Adult Games” are suited to people 5′ 3″ (155cm) and taller, but anyone can play. Kids in an adult game have a big disadvantage because they don’t have the body size to draw the longer arrows. Draw force is set to 17-22 pounds (compared to 30lb at Archery Tag™, either of which hurts much less than paintballing.)
NOTE:Kids at adult games may be exposed to adult humor and behavior.

Getting Hurt
Bumps and brushes are common! The shock of being hit with an arrow can be a lot for some people. A few tears will fall and people move on.
Injuries are rare, and usually the result of trips and falls, not the arrows. All Minors should be accompanied by an adult who knows them and can help them navigate the experience of getting hurt and bouncing back.

Clothing
All players must have comfy clothes to run around in a park or forest. Games are playable in light rain or snow. Layers are good cause it’s a high energy game with lots of sweat once we get going.

Gear
You are welcome to bring biker gloves and plastic safety glasses, if you have pairs you like. And I have lots if not.
GLASS Glasses are not idea. If you need a visual aid, smaller the better, so you can wear googles over top.

Arriving
Ideally, all players will be there at the beginning, on time, so we can all go through rules and training once.

Leaving
Each game takes 5 to 30 minutes, depending on the game. It’s hard for players to join or quit during a game, but it’s easy for players to skip a game or head home after a game.
